Did you make as much money as you should have this outage season?
1. You've heard the saying "the more you learn, the more you earn".
What did you learn this outage season to help you earn more in the fall? Did you receive additional training in a current area of certification? Did you receive training in an area you are not certified in? It is important to update your resume and certification package with all new training received.
I am already certified, why should I continue to record and maintain additional training?
Many professions require additional yearly training to stay up-to-date with the currents trends in the industry. The nuclear world is no different. When under going the intitial certification process with a new employer, the more recent training you have received, the better. Think about it. If you were an employer, would you feel better hiring someone who has more than the minimum number of required training hours or someone with the minimum number of training hours? Likewise, would you feel better hiring someone who has received training 20+ years ago or someone who shows recent additional training?
If you are new to the nuclear world, record all of the training you receive even if it is on-the-job training. Take advantage of the more experienced inspectors and observe them on the job in other inspection methods. Record your time!
When the spring outage season comes to a close, forward your training records to "Paperwork Diva" and we will add it to your certifcation package for future retieval.
